Chris was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Gray, and her beloved firstborn daughter, Shannon Rowald.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Robert Strack; her sisters, Faye Barton and Linda Hockaday (Russell); her brother, Stuart Parrish (Cheryl); her daughters, Dana Wells (Kenny) and Elizabeth Strack (Zack); and her cherished grandchildren, Adam, Stephanie, Kayley, and Kinsley.

Chris found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening, tending to her flowers, and watching the birds gather at her feeders. Her kindness, strength, and dedication to her family will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Garden. This service will be located in the Azalea Garden section at 12609 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238.

A Celebration of Life will immediately follow from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cheswick Park located at 1700 Forest Ave, Regency, VA 23229.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Suncrest Hospice in gratitude for the compassionate care, comfort, and support they provided Chris during her final months.

Chris' love, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind forever.
