Evie Henderson DuVal

Evie Y. (Henderson) DuVal, 85, of Sterling, MA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Discovery Village in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter U. DuVal. She is survived by two nieces, Diane Sexton (Eric) of Mechanicsville, VA and Donna Schulze of Henrico, VA and two great-nieces, Hannah Sexton and Madison Sexton and a great-nephew, Christopher Sexton all of Mechanicsville, VA. She was born in Taylor, Arkansas; the daughter of William R. Henderson and Louise Pickard and lived in Cleveland, Ohio before moving to Sterling in 1970. She retired at the age of 77 from the State of Massachusetts working in Consumer Funds in 2014 after 16 years. Prior to that, she worked for Bradlees for 20 years as the store secretary until they closed. She loved this job and all of the people she worked with. She enjoyed gardening, taking walks with her dogs, yoga and volunteering at the senior center. A graveside service will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
