

Frances Suthard Cloe, 91, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026. Fran was born in Garrisonville, Virginia on July 4, 1935. She and her husband Richard Cloe married and moved to the West End of Henrico, Virginia in 1965.
Fran started her career in her teens as a bank teller in Quantico, Virginia and then later in Richmond, Virginia for F&M Bank, Sovereign Bank, and Bank of America. After retirement Fran volunteered at Henrico Doctors Hospital-Forest gift shop where she enjoyed working with friends and assisting patients and families. Fran was a member of the Tuckahoe Village neighborhood Canasta Club, Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, and attended the River Road Baptist Church. Whether it was taking an extended cruise or a weekend trip to the beach, Fran loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.
Aside from being "the best” mom to her son Kevin, Fran’s greatest joy was being ‘Granny Franny’ to her beautiful grandchildren Bella and Gabby. She was famous for sending cards throughout the year with silly stickers and special edition stamps! Christmas was a gift giving festivity that made everyone feel special. Her generosity and kindness extended to her family and beyond.
Fran is survived by her husband, Richard Cloe; her son, Kevin Cloe (Meaghann McCarthy); her granddaughters, Isabella and Gabriella Cloe; her sisters, Joyce Kurz (Charles), Ann Bender, Nancy Winkler (David); as well as nieces, nephews,extended family and friends. Fran is predeceased by her parents, Lynn and Julia Suthard; her sister, Pamela Manning; and her brother, Wendell Suthard.
We will always miss you ‘Granny Franny’ and will always hold you in our hearts. May you rest in peace. We love you.
A visitation will be held Tuesday Oct. 13th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM At Woody Funeral Home Parham 1771 N. Parham Road in Richmond. A committal service will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
