

Frances Fulp Taylor, widow of Carl L. Taylor, died January 16, 2012. Originally. from Halifax County, Virginia, she is survived by a brother, Ralph E. Fulp of -. Palacious, Texas and two sisters, Louise Fulp Dodd of Tellico Village, Tennessee and Gertrude Fulp Reese of Loganville, Georgia and many nieces and nephews, among them Bettyanne and Bill Harrison of Richmond and Karen, John and Dana Wilkins of Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Gertrude Fulp, brothers Earl, Douglas, Robert Russell, and Watkins Fulp.
Mrs. Taylor was active in the business world and was formerly employed by Virginia Electric and Power Company and Virginia Transit Company. For the last 35 years of her career, she was Vice President of Tank Trailer, Inc. In recognition of their years of service and dedication to the Virginia trucking industry, the Executive Committee of the Virginia Trucking,Association awarded Carl and Frances Taylor the first V.T.A. Supplier of the Year Award.
Formerly, Mrs. Taylor was active in the National Secretaries Association, the Business & Professional Women’s Club, the Y.W.C.A. the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and was a charter member of Willow Oaks Country Club. As a Life Member of Beta Sigma Phi, she has been honored with an International Award of Distinction, the highest honor they bestow. A member since 1949, she has strongly supported the Beta Sigma Phi Medical equipment Fund and was a founding chairman for nine years.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of Derbyshire Baptist Church and has lived at Lakewood Manor Retirement Community since November 2003.
Visitation 'will be on Friday, January 20 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, with interment to follow at Westhampton Memorial Park.
