Obituary of George Kenneth Wilson

WILSON, George Kenneth, 90, of Henrico, VA passed away peacefully on June 21, 2019. He was born in Rutherford, NC and raised in Chase City, VA.

He was a retired Detective from the Richmond Police Department with 34 years of service and a veteran of the United States Army serving in combat during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Berryman Wilson and Mary Lou Della Huntley Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth Turner Wilson; son, Allen Wilson (Robin); three grandchildren, Stephanie Bostic (Jacob), Michael Wilson (Erin), and Sarah Demestre (Chase); three great-grandchildren Makinley and Hayley Bostic, and Mason Demestre. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Ken” to his numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 5 to 8 pm at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 11 am at Skipwith Baptist Church, 1900 Skipwith Road, Richmond, Va. 23229 led by Dr. Cecil J. Chambers. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
