George David Witt Jr.

WITT, George David, 80, passed away September 20, 2014 at his home in Henrico County. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Witt of Arrington, Va.; and daughter, Dana Marie Witt. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Jane Wood Witt; his son, David Witt; daughter-in-law, Pam; dearly loved grandsons, Sam and Matthew; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He served in the Army for 2 years and later graduated from Virginia Tech in 1960, with a B.S. degree in accounting. He worked for Price Waterhouse and American Automobile Association in Northern Virginia and was comptroller of Southern Bank in Richmond. He was a volunteer for the American Cancer Association and Henrico Doctors' Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Dr., Richmond, Va. 23229.
