

GERALD ANDREWS CUNNINGHAM passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013. He was born October 13, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Margaret Cunningham, and his brother, Eugene Cunningham. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Margaret (Peggy) Stone Cunningham, three children, Steve (Jackie), Jim (DeeDee), and Cathy (David). He is also survived by two grandchildren, Beth and Michael (Katie) and one great granddaughter, Sydney. He graduated from the University of Richmond with a degree in accounting and owned several businesses with his late partner, Gene Hancock. Among the businesses they owned and operated were Al’s Silver Coach Grill, Overhill Lake, and Putt-A-Way Golf. He was an avid golfer and master club maker. After retiring to West Palm Beach more than twenty years ago, he became active in greyhound racing and co-owned a greyhound who won the Florida Derby. He and Peggy were long time members of Bear Lakes Country Club. They moved back to Richmond in 2011 to be close to family as he battled cancer. The service will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
