

Gloria Esther Davila, 90, of Midlothian, Va., passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Angel Davila; her son, John; and two grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Esther Kay Davila Jones, Virginia Davila Mohlie and Victor Daniel Davila; two brothers, one sister, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She came to the U.S. from Puerto Rico when she was in her 20s. She and her husband lived and raised their children in Baltimore, Md. She received her GED and driver's license when she was in her 50s and received her medical assistant certificate while she was in her 60s. She was the most talented seamstress, who could make and sew anything. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Rd., and where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow and at 2 p.m. the family will process to Forest Lawn Cemetery for the interment. The family would like those attending to dress in holiday festive attire.
