Guy Marvin Duty

Guy Marvin Duty, 72, passed away June 11, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Ella Duty; and brother, Glen. He is survived by his wife, Eveline; brother, Ken and his wife, Carol, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister-in-law, Jan Duty; niece, Michele Muth; and nephew, Joe Duty.

Guy was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church and retired from the United States Postal Service. He will be remembered fondly by those friends who meet daily for breakfast at Hardees on Parham Road. Guy was a man of generous spirit and found joy in helping others. Those in need never had to look far, as Guy was always there to see that they had what they needed. Many do not know that Guy would take groceries to those who were hungry, pay utility bills for those that needed heat, electricity or water. Guy was an angel to many and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Thursday (today), June 13, 2013, and where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 14. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
