Hazel Wells Mayo McClung

MCCLUNG, Hazel Wells Mayo, 90, of Glen Allen, Va., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert W. “Bob” Mayo, Sr., and her second husband, The Rev. Dr. Ardell “Mac” McClung. She is survived by two sons, Bob Mayo, Jr. and Bill (Kathy) Mayo; stepdaughter Ann McClung; stepson Wally McClung; grandsons, Scott (Theresa) Mayo, Lee (Beth) Mayo, and Billy (Amber) Mayo; great-grandchildren, Vaughn, Emma, Aidan, Oliver, and Hudson. Hazel was a graduate of The Johnston-Willis School of Nursing Class of 1947. After retirement, Hazel continued to be a nurse to her friends and family. Special thanks are extended to all of her McDonald’s breakfast gang with whom she shared many great moments and laughter! The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 26, at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, Va. 23229. Her Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, at Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Drive, Richmond, Va. 23229, followed by a reception. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, at Westhampton Memorial & Cremation Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23238.
