Heinzen, Helen Best (Taylor), 102 years old of Henrico County, VA, departed this life peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday September 6th, 2015. She was born on March 23rd, 1913 in Goochland County, VA. She was proceeded in death by her parents James and Etta Best, husbands James Taylor Sr. and George Heinzen, two sisters Clara Short and Virginia Storey, two brothers Rev. Paul Best and Leroy Best, and one son Willard Taylor Sr.
She is survived by 2 sons James Taylor Jr. (Barbara) and Mason Taylor. 9 grandchildren; Glenda Brown (Larry), Jeff Taylor (Sandy), Doug Taylor, Cheryl Taylor, Dana Humphrey, Michael Taylor (Kellee), Rachel Tuck, David Taylor (Lauren), and Dawn Bahen (Mike). 12 Great-Grandchildren: Cody Dedmon (Jessica), Joey Taylor, Amanda Burry, Reese Herron, Alec Calaf, Chase Tuck, Tristan Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Claire Tuck, Savannah Taylor, Abigail Bahen, and Jake Bahen; a devoted nephew Billy Scruggs (Eleanor); close neighbors Bryan and Annie Lucas and Michelle Surat, and many other close family and friends. Helen was a retired Miller & Rhodes Employee.
She was an active member of Lakeside United Methodist Church for close to 74 years, was a honorary member of the Goochland County Historical Society, and the Walkerton Tavern Tea Guild. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lakeside United Methodist Church (2333 Hilliard Road, Henrico, VA 23228) on Friday September 18th at 12PM, officiated by Rev. Rita Callis. A private burial will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice for their care in Helen's final days.
