Hubel Robins Jr.

ROBINS, Hubel, Jr., 84, native Richmonder, went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2015. Born April 5, 1931. Son of Eloise Richardson Robins and Hubel Robins. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Robins; his sister Robin Watson (Billy) of Raleigh, NC; and his half brother Reed Robins of New York City; his children Ann Strickler (Scott), Trip Robins (Sandy), Raleigh Robins (Beth) and John Robins (Cathy); grandchildren Ken Strickler (Christen), Katie Strickler, Beth Strickler, Jordan Strickler, Justin Robins, Kelsey Robins, Palmer Robins, Sarah Robins, Will Robins; step grandchildren Jennifer Provan and Wesley Fallin; great grandchildren Lila Strickler, Ellie Strickler and Devin Provan all to carry on his strong will and love of life

He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and University of Richmond. He began his Insurance career at Jones & Robins and in 1960 established Robins Insurance Agency which continues as a family business. He had a mind for business, heart for family and a special love of the Northern Neck. He loved dogs, woodworking, and boating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm, August 26, 2015 (today), at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond. Memorial services will be held at 2pm, on August 27, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Ave, Richmond, VA 23229. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Methodist Church Foundation or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
