Dearest Shelley and family. Believe more deeply - hold your face to the light - even though for the moment you do not see. Jake was beautiful, he mattered and he loved you so. I am with you in spirit and holding you close.

I had the privilege of knowing Jake when he and his family lived here in Purcellville, Virginia.  Jake was friends with my son Sam and a bunch of other high school guys, skaters really, skateboarders.  There was Sam, Robbie, Nick, Jake, Gus, Evan, Patrick, Justin, Elliott, Gabe, and a few others who, along with Jake, skated the few "spots" in Purcellville.  Then, while these guys were still in high school, we would all pile into my station wagon and head over to Frederick, MD; Washington, D.C. etc. During these years Jake's immense gifts and talents continued to present themselves:  the theater, singing, athletics and an almost effortless intellectualism, evidence, I am sure of a very high I.Q. Jake is, in fact, the very opposite of death - a state of being none of us understands very well - creative, optimistic and, of course, Australian.

Shelley and Family- may God's grace provide comfort and peace that passes understanding. I'm heartbroken for your loss and you're in my constant prayers. Xo
