James Alex Bowker

BOWKER, James “Alex”, 91, of Glen Allen, passed away peacefully at his home August 3, 2016. He was preceded in death by Christine, his loving wife of 65 years. He is survived by his 10 children and their families: Jimmy Bowker (predeceased Marsha), Debbie Privett (Danny), Stephanie Barr (Glenn), Cindy Bowker, Anita Miller (Walt), Steve Bowker (Ann), Mark Bowker, Father Jeffrey Bowker, Celeste Oley (Mark), Monica Spain (Jeff), 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Alex served in the United States Marine Corps in WWII and was a retired member of IBEW Local Union 666 and a Member of the 4th Degree, Richmond Assembly 1165, KOC, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 395.

A Prayer Vigil will be held Friday, August 5 from 5 – 5:15 PM and the family will receive friends following until 7:00 PM at the Parham Chapel of the Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N Parham Road, Richmond. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 6 at 10:00 AM at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 6006 Three Chopt Rd. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park.
