

DURESKY, James F., 82, of Richmond, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Born June 18, 1929 in Madison, Wis., he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Elaine; and seven children, Scott (Eleanor) of Charlottesville, Denise Johnston (Nelson) of Manakin Sabot, Steve (Sharon) of Niceville, Fla., Jackie Duresky-Garbee (Phillip) of Richmond, Patrice Wingo (Danny) of Chesterfield, Chris of Richmond and Jon (Brenda) of Warner Robins, Ga. He is also survived by15 grandchildren, Dustin Kemp, Carl Johnston, Teffiny Bagnara, Rose Payne, Josh Duresky, Jeffrey Duresky, Cole Wingo, Adam Duresky, Teresa Garbee, Kendal O'Lenick, Michelle Wingo, Zachary Duresky, Logan Duresky, Jarrett Garbee and Jake Duresky; along with many adoring great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Loretta Murphy, Joyce Wickham and Susie Peterson; and brother, Frank. Jim will be greatly missed by many wonderful friends especially, Fred Rosignol. Jim worked for 25 years with the Pillsbury Company, 25 years with the Better Business Bureau, and taught for five years at the University of Louisville. Jim and Elaine enjoyed camping with their family throughout the country, and together, traveled the world. Jim also enjoyed cribbage and bridge with Elaine and friends.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, followed by a family remembrance at 7 p.m. Services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 6006 Three Chopt Rd., Richmond. A graveside service will immediately follow at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bridget's Church.
