

Janet Long Wells, "The Sweetest One," 94, of Richmond, Va., passed away January 29, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Earl Long, Richard Collins and John Harrison Wells; two brothers, William and Furman Martin. She is survived by three daughters, Jan Long, Peggy Wagner and husband, Rick Wagner, Gay Curtin and husband, Jeff Curtin; four granddaughters, Kristin Flammia, Stephanie Wagner, April Danyluk and Jessee Curtin; also numerous nieces and nephews. Her many years of employment included Miller & Rhodes, Richmond Memorial Hospital, Richard W. Crossen, M.D. and United Methodist Children's Home. She was a member of Ginter Park United Methodist Church and resided at Westport Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the past 15 years. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 3, at 2:45 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ginter Park U.M.C., 1010 Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va., 23227.
