Joan Rountree Turner, 80, of Richmond, Va., departed this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Lynne Turner and brother, Timothy O. Rountree, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Timothy Reid Turner, Joseph Craig Turner and his wife, Laurie and David Buchanan Bruce and his wife, Kris; two grandchildren, Abbey and Pierce Bruce. Mrs. Turner was born on September 17, 1933 in Richmond, Va., to the late Timothy Oscar Rountree and his wife, Allene. The family invites friends to gather for a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A family reception and visitation will follow until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff and her friends at Emeritus at Deep Run, The Laurels of University Park and Imperial Plaza for the love and care they provided to her.
