My condolences to Wanda and Sarah and extended fanily. Johnny was a loyal and treasured friend. I miss our conversations about a variety of  topics. You are missed.

My thoughts are with you. I didn’t know your dad but no doubt he was wonderful to have raised a woman like you. I love seeing all the photos. Especially the wedding photos. So beautiful. I hope you see your Dad in your dreams and he hugs you again.

My name is Fred Porterfield I am so sorry for your loss.I worked with John at Alfa Laval in the shipping and receiving dept. I have been there 25years as well and still there.I am out with surgery right now but just wanted to say how sorry I am John was a good guy and will be missed.

I enjoyed getting to know Johnny over the years. He was always friendly, supportive, and a sympathetic ear for me at family get-togethers. We shared quite a few laughs. I will miss him. 

I met Johnny in the early 1980's  when Wanda and I played softball for United Virginia Bank.    I will always remember Johnny's quick wit and sense of humor.   We had some long talks that I will always cherish.  He cared deeply for his family and their well being.  I will miss that little grin Johnny shared with everyone after he shared some of his opinions.    May his fond memories help us cope with his passing.

I remember going to Richmond  40 years ago to visit my fiancée, Joan who was Wanda’s roommate.  Johnny also lived in the same apartment complex and was dating Wanda.  He and I became good friends and spent many weekends together playing basketball or fishing.
Johnny was a kind man and a very special friend.  I will miss him but will remember the special person he was and how he extended his hand in friendship so many years ago.

Great man, well love and totally respected by all who knew him. Will be missed and remembered most of all by his beautiful family that he was blessed with, but also by all who knew him.

We had one heck of a life together Johnny P! Judging from all the out pouring of love and support Sarah and I have received over this last week you were loved and will be missed by many. I love you and miss you very much❤️

Remembering you and John when we were all much younger in the 'hood.  Block parties, croquet. . .  Thinking of you and hoping that all these happy memories will get you through this tough time.

I have many fond memories of Johnny's personality and amusing discussions, know he will be greatly missed.

I am honored to have called Johnny my brother-in-law. He was such a wonderful man. ..a kind and caring husband to Wanda, a devoted loving father to Sarah and a wonderful relative and friend to our family. I will miss his sense of humor and his love of food. I love you Johnny and will miss you very much. Debra 

Johnny was a great brother n law.  He always put Wanda and Sarah first.  His sense of humor was very subtle.  Johnny would voice his opinion sternly then hit you with his little grin signaling that he knew he might be slightly off base.  He was very compassionate and loved sports and his dogs.  My parents would have been very proud of the husband and father that he became. He is definitely missed and will always be remembered.

I am so grateful to have known Johnny.  He so easily and obviously showed how much he loved Wanda and Sarah. It was his smile when talking about them that gave it away, every time. He was a great husband and dad.  We spent some good times, all of us together celebrating Sarah's milestones, going to food festivals, discussing my tool purchases and having Sunday morning breakfasts along with doggie playdates.  He knew just enough about everything and we never had a dull conversation.   May he rest in peace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Packett Sr. and Marjorie H. Packett. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Wanda F. Packett, his daughter Sarah E. Packett, his sisters Joanne Packett Purcell and Deborah Marie Packett.
