Joshua Bouchard Alburger

Joshua Bouchard Alburger, passed away June 2, 2013 after a long battle with Bi-Polar Disorder and drug addiction, surrounded by loving family and friends. Joshua was born July 10, 1980 at Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, Va. He attended Saint Mary Catholic School in Henrico County and Goochland County High School. Joshua was an adventurous and generous man who loved his wife, parents, parents-in-law, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and especially his three children. Joshua had a passion for life, known by those who met him. He was spontaneous, had a love for traveling and his infectious laugh will not be forgotten by those who had the privilege to hear it. Joshua had a generous and selfless heart and took great joy in helping others, with no thought of return. His legacy is carried on through his wife of 10 years, Jessica Gatto-Alburger; three children, Anthony, Devin, and Andre; parents, Nick and Lucy Alburger; parents-in-law, Randy and Lourdes Gatto; brothers, John Dominy, Christopher Alburger, and Jose Jackson; sisters, Mary Alice Smith, Marion Easton-Alburger Gittings, Joy Alburger Jones, Marcie Allen, Jessica Alburger Pike, and Melina Vaughn; brothers-in-law, Alex Gatto and Michael Gatto; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 with a visitation following until 8 p.m. at the Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Road. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. A reception will be hosted at the home of Nick and Lucy following the burial. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a college fund for Josh's children.
