Woody Funeral Home-Parham
Kevin Robert Burns, 55, a man after God’s own heart, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018, in his home, surrounded by family. Always in the pursuit of excellence, Kevin leaves a lasting legacy by having faithfully served his family, his community, his work and his church. Kevin is survived by his best friend and wife of 24 years, Jervetta Burns; sons, Anthony and Kenneth (mother, Anna T. Burns). In addition, Kevin is survived by his mother, Velma Burns; sisters, Phyllis Major (Sam) and Natalie Broyles (David); nephews, Blaine Moates and John Broyles; niece, Kelsey Burns; and future daughter-in-law, Katherine (Kenneth Burns). Kevin also leaves a host of dedicated family, friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his father, Air Force Captain John R. Burns. Kevin absolutely demonstrated unwavering faith and exemplified the verse from 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many that have shown their love and support. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Richmond Community Church, 11801 Nuckols Rd., Glen Allen Va. 23059. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bon Secours Health Systems, Johns Hopkins University Hospital or Stand Up to Cancer Organization.
