

Kimberly “Kim” Jonas Shumadine of Richmond, Virginia, was born on October 20, 1976 and passed away on July 5, 2026. Kim was predeceased by her father, Gordon Keith Jonas, and sister, Ann Randolph Jonas. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Ann Jonas, two children, John Miles “Jack” Shumadine, Jr. and Randolph Cabell “Rand” Shumadine, sister, Mary Cabell Jonas-Lazerow, brother-in-law, Robert Lazerow, and niece, Eliza Ann Lazerow.
Kim was a 1994 graduate of Trinity Episcopal School and a 1998 graduate of Randolph-Macon College. During college, she was actively involved in campus organizations, serving as president of Delta Zeta Sorority and completing an internship with the Virginia General Assembly in Richmond.
Following graduation, Kim began her career in the financial services industry with Scott & Stringfellow and later Davenport & Company as a Registered Sales Assistant. She continued her professional career with SunTrust Bank (now Truist), where she advanced to Sales Consultant for the Mid-Atlantic CEO before finding her favorite role as an Assistant Vice President - Marketing Event Manager. In that position, she planned and coordinated large meetings and events throughout the Southeast and internationally. Kim was creative and tenacious, approaching challenges with humor and strength.
Kim’s greatest joy came from supporting her sons in all of their pursuits, especially baseball and outdoor adventures. She generously volunteered at numerous events for St. Christopher’s School and found joy in designing beautiful spaces, preparing gourmet meals for family and friends, and cultivating a vibrant flower garden each spring.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, at 12:00 PM at Second Presbyterian Church, 5 N. 5th St., Richmond, with a reception to follow. Contributions in her memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal School - Ann Randolph Jonas Scholarship Fund, 3850 Pittaway Dr., Richmond, VA 23235.
