

Lila Ann Jones Pollock passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 in Richmond, Virginia. Mrs. Pollock was born October 22, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Donald Jackson Jones and Louise Pike Jones Lutz. She was reared in Ironton, Ohio and graduated from St. Joseph High School. She attended Morris Harvey College (now the University of Charleston) where she was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma sorority.
After college, Ann began her working for the state of West Virginia in the workman’s compensation department in Charleston. Later she was employed by the Newport News Shipbuilding Company in Newport News, Virginia until the birth of her sons. She returned to the work as a civilian employee of the United States Army Reserve at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. after her sons were grown. She retired from there in 1997. After retirement, Ann spent many years as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Mrs. Pollock is survived by three sons: Richard (Linda) Pollock of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Kevin (Kelly) Pollock of Stafford, Virginia and Chris (Claire) Pollock of Richmond, Virginia; six grandchildren: John G Pollock, III and Sarah Pollock both of Chicago, IL, Michael (Cierra) Pollock of Culpeper, Virginia, Kaleb Pollock of Dundee, Oregon, Grant Pollock and Allison Pollock both of Richmond, Virginia; one sister, Marian Pinkerton of Ironton, Ohio, three brothers: CJ Lutz, Jim Lutz and Bob Lutz all of Ironton, Ohio, and numerous nephews and nieces. Mrs. Pollock was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a son, John Gardner Pollock, II, and her brother, Major Earl “Gene” Jones.
Ann’s family would like to thank the loving caregivers at Beth Shalom Home of Virginia.
Services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Woody Funeral Home at 1771 N Parham Rd with Rev. Janice Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Memorial Park at 6217 Memorial Drive in Sandston. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 till 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Pollock’s name to Bon Secour Health Foundation Volunteer Fund, 7229 Forest Avenue, Suite 200, Richmond, VA. 23226
