Lily Starbuck Salter went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Lily was born in Nottingham, England on April 28, 1919 to Thomas and Eliza Starbuck and came to the United States as a war bride in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Reese Salter and son, Eric. She is survived by her children, Robert Salter, Carol Darden, Kathy Bloxton (Jimmy) and Janet Brooking (Monti); five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Lily was a member of the Trans Atlantic Brides and Parents Association; a British Heritage Society for more than 30 years and was dearly loved by all who knew her. We would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Ascera Hospice Care.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on February 16, 2017 at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Richmond, Va. 23229 where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
