We mourn your passing but celebrate your extra-ordinary life.
You grew up in Vietnam and had to leave to escape Communism. You managed to live in the Philippines and France before coming to the U.S. All this time, you somehow managed to adjust to different cultures and worked to keep your family intact.
We salute you for the great job you did raising your children and their families. You embraced all of us, your extended family, with open arms, no questions asked.
Your kindness and compassionate nature has passed on to your wonderful grandchildren who provide so much happiness for those who remain behind.
We Miss You!

Lucy, for me personally, was the most compassionate, thoughtful and calm person. She always made everyone feel comfortable and loved.
She did her best to keep me healthy as my “personal trainer”, although it turned out to be a hard job for her...but she kept at it.
She spent time teaching me about Vietnamese cooking. I loved her patience and her sharing her knowledge with me. I never asked her to teach me her specialties like fish with dill, pho and the other wonderful soups that we loved so much. Such A great cook!
I’ll miss going shopping and just “hanging out” together. She was such a great friend to everyone, especially to me...and became my best friend. It was a privilege to have met her in this lifetime.
My condolences to family and friends.

I know it's a bit late, but wanted you to know how much I appreciated Aunty Lucy's kindness. I always felt so welcome when she was around and I came to visit. She even laughed at my corny jokes, lol!
She was pretty amazing. ❤

While it is difficult to understand why such wonderful people are taken from our lives much too soon, we are so fortunate to have had Lucy in our world. Though the time we had together was brief, during those opportunities to visit, talk and get to know each other she enriched and brightened our lives. Rest in peace, and may your memory be for a blessing.

Dear Lucy,
We’ve known you for a comparatively short time but long enough to discover that we were blessed to have you as a friend who could share tears and laughters through joys and sorrows during the later years of your life.
Lucy, please rest assured that you will be remembered as a perfect mother to your three wonderful children, a gracious person that brightened the spaces you entered, and a true friend to our family.
Laura, Lana and Cuong, be proud of your Mom. We love you and wish you strength and courage to go through this most difficult time.

Mommy Lucy was an truly an amazing, beautiful and caring person. During college and after Lucy always made me fill like one of her own kids. She and the family took care of me after knee surgery and also years later let me stay in her home during a difficult time in my life. I will miss our talks about life how she had faced and overcame so many challenges and adversity in coming to the US and supporting her kids whom I will always consider my brother and sisters. Her beauty and grace was timeless and her meals were legendary and better than any restaurant because she made each meal with love for the people she loved. We will miss you Mommy Lucy and know that your energy and spirit will always be with us. Love Always Frederick Gresham

Dear các cháu Cương, Lana, Laura, your spouses, and children,
During the four decades I was privileged to know Lucy Doan Le or as she was dearly called cô Lựu, she was to me a self-giving and hard-working person, always thinking of you guys as her main focus. As the manager of Dr. Pho’s medical office, she ably took care of patient records so that Dr. Pho could devote his time to his patients. In her new and spacious house, she decorated the walls with paintings from well-known artists. In the weekend gatherings at her house with family friends, writers and poets, fine foods and wines were served. She informed me when Lana graduated from GWU, one of the prestigious institutions of high learning. To me, she epitomized the Vietnamese woman in the best tradition of good old Việt Nam. Devotion and self-sacrifice are the gifts she practiced and shared with those she knew. I learned that lesson from her. You should be proud of her.
