She was an excellent cook and seamstress, and her family reaped the benefits of her expertise. Luetta believed anything worth doing was worth doing well, and that it was important to treat everyone with kindness. As a woman of faith who believed in the power of prayer, she prayed regularly for the needs of her family. Luetta was a life-long learner who instilled the love of learning in all her children. An active volunteer in her church, she served on the Altar Guild and was a member of the Sodality of Mary. Additionally, she was a member of the Columbines, the female auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus.
