

NAVARRO, Manuel, 87, of Glen Allen, went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2016 surrounded at home by his loving family. He was born in Camagüey, Cuba on October 28, 1928. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Inés Maria, and five adult children, Flor Williams and her husband Henry, Martha Mattis and her husband Richard, Zonia Navarro, Lourdes Gatto and her husband Randy, and Carlos Navarro; 11 grandchildren, Andre and Richard Williams, Lazaro Mendez, Adam Navarro, Kristina and Lorennzo Figueroa, Jessica, Michael and Alex Gatto, Matthew and Madison Navarro; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A former teacher and principal before leaving Cuba, he was an award-winning insurance agent with Prudential for many years. An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed following the Washington Nationals. He also enjoyed going to the casinos to play the slots. Manuel had a passion for getting to know everyone he came in contact with and sharing his stories of life and family. He loved his family deeply and leaves a legacy of devotion to family, forgiveness, laughter and loyalty. He especially loved his wife, whom he treasured.
His remains rest at the 1771 N. Parham Rd Chapel of Woody Funeral Home in Richmond, VA, where visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 1, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA.
