Margaret Bauer Cohn

She was preceded in death by her parents Rose and Bernice Ayers; her brothers, Carl, Newman, Beasley, Robert, Ray, and David Ayers; and her sisters, Anita Ann Ayers, Telitha Swope, Virginia Hembree, Kay Herbold, and Kathy Hartman.

Marge is survived by her daughter, Emily Campbell (Valerie Phillips); Robert Spence (Christina); her sister, June Galyen (Thomas); and eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly; and many nieces and nephews.

Marge loved quilting, sewing, and cooking (especially sweets and candy!). She made friends wherever she went, forming wonderful, lifelong friendships along the way. She was always up for a chat or a project. Her absence will be felt around more than one table.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by the family and friends she left behind, but we find comfort knowing she is having a long-overdue family reunion with the brothers and sisters who went before her. With so many Ayers family members together again, we can only imagine the stories being told.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229, on July 18, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:40 pm. A reception will follow the Celebration of Life at Woody Funeral Home.
