Maria passed away after a lengthy illess. She leaves behind to mourn for her and cherish her memory: her husband, Bruce A. Green; three children, Edward Lee (Anita), Jacqueline (Archie), Bruce Jr. (Rose); four grandchildren, Jonathan, Kevin, Jordan, Amber; three great-grandchildren; two nephews, William Green and Rodney Green; and niece, Sherida White Floyd.
She met her husband, Bruce, while he served in the U.S. Army in 1963 in Heilbronn, Germany. They were married on July 31, 1965. She accompanied her husband on many military assignments in the U.S: Fort Hood, TX; Fort Gordon, GA; Fort Lee, VA, eventually settling in Richmond, VA. She worked as an expert seamstress at many locations: to include the former Miller and Rhoades and the former Freda's Dress Shops. Taking great pride and admiration in her career.
While being a full-time wife, mother, and WaWa, she gave effortlessly of herself and all she did.
She loved her family and took great pride in all she accomplished.
She will be greatly missed and always loved. There will be many memories of Maria for years to come.
Leaving behind to cherish in her memory are Nan Sharpton, Betty Jean Stonell, and Gertrude Lee.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 26 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow at Westhampton Memorial Park.
