JORGENSEN, Marie Mamroth 86, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2017. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Ejnar Jorgensen who died at the age of 2 from polio. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Ejnar O. Jorgensen, and her 2 loving daughters, Linda Jorgensen Thomas of Virginia Beach, Va. and Janet Jorgensen of Richmond, Va. Marie loved people and brought a smile to all. She loved her flower gardens, walking around her neighborhood (everyone knew Marie), her church, and she loved to travel with her beloved husband making new friends along the way. She was famous for stopping whenever she saw a baby to tell the parents to “enjoy your precious gift”. She quite simply loved being a wife, a mother and a friend. The family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to her caregivers, but especially to Christine Parker of Virginia Beach and the staff at Spring Arbor of Richmond for their loving care of this very special lady. She will be buried in a private service next to her son in Stickney, Ill. A memorial service will be held at Providence Presbyterian Church, 5497 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, on Tuesday, June 6th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in memory of Marie and her son Charles, to Providence Presbyterian Church, 5497 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464; or to a children's charity of your choice.
