Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Rainer worked as a surgical dental nurse. A devoted mother and loved by everyone who knew her, Mrs. Rainer took great pride in sharing her home and good conversation. She passionately supported the academic, athletic, and professional accomplishments of her husband, children and grandchildren, enthusiastically sharing with everyone she met. A proud homemaker, Mrs. Rainer also acted as secretary for her husband’s patent law practice. She traveled extensively with her husband, often going on scuba trips to exotic places, often with the Undersea Explorers Club of Richmond. Self-taught in computer technology, she expertly edited collections of underwater photographs for display. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Norman Rainer; sons Russell, Michael, and Robert; and seven grandchildren.
