IN THE CARE OF
Woody Funeral Home-Parham
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving son and brother, Mark Nesan Appanah.
Mark grew up in West Hartford, CT, where he attended Hall High School. Mark was a three-letter varsity athlete in football, wrestling, and track. He was a camp counselor at Asto Wamah in Columbia, CT where he taught swimming, boating, and sailing. In addition, he worked as a lifeguard and volunteered as a tutor to deaf students. He studied at Johns Hopkins University and George Mason University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and obtained a CPA license.
Mark worked as a Senior Internal Audit Manager at Xometry. In addition, he started and ran multiple businesses, performing bookkeeping and tax accounting services. He started his career at Ernst and Young and thereafter worked for several Fortune 500 companies. He was valued by leadership and his peers.
He was fondly known for his infectious smile and engaging personality. Outside of work, Mark enjoyed fitness, reading, watching movies, shows, and documentaries. He traveled extensively both inside and outside the United States. He had a photographic memory and an amazing knowledge of the Bible.
Mark will be deeply missed by his parents, Thangi and Arnold; brother and sister-in-law, Darren and Chelsea; niece and nephew, Sloane and Xander; loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family in South Africa.
