Mrs. Maureen Neumann McGuire

Maureen was born on January 9, 1940, at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, to Henry A. and Geraldine C. Neumann, both of Jersey City. She graduated from Mount St. Dominic Academy in Caldwell, New Jersey, in 1958 and continued her education at Caldwell College for Women.

While Maureen had many interests throughout her life, nothing was more important to her than family. She was the mother of six children, two step daughters and the proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren and one great grandson.

She also cherished her roles as a great-grandmother and aunt. She loved being involved in the lives of her family, following what they were doing, celebrating their accomplishments and milestones, and simply enjoying the time they were able to spend together. Her family was a constant source of pride and happiness.

Faith was also an important part of Maureen's life. She was very involved with Community Bible Study and especially valued the faith, friendships, and fellowship she found there. The "Bible Study Ladies" carried Maureen on their wings for the past two years. We cannot thank them enough!

Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Henry A. and Geraldine C. Neumann and her beloved son, Michael Francis Allocca.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stephen McGuire, and her children, Timothy Allocca, Kevin Allocca (Paula), Marc Allocca (Dodi), Sean Allocca (Bara), Jennifer Brost (Michael), Betsy Jones (Nathan), and two stepdaughters, Susan Pearson (Mark) and Sandy McGuire (Dennis). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren: Allison Murray (Tom), Ashley Allocca, Tucker Allocca, Frank Allocca (fiancé Madison), Matthew Allocca (Lisa), Peter Allocca, Margaret Allocca, Dodi Allocca, Will Allocca, Caitlin Allocca, Michael Brost, Jr., Hallie Brost, Mary Katherine Brost, Henry Brost, Nate Jones, Conner Jones, Benton Jones, Riley Jones, Katie Grassa (Ron), Kelly Gillespie (Isaiah), and Ashton Matthews; and one great-grandson, Lucas Allocca (Matthew and Lisa).

To Maureen, family extended well beyond holidays and special occasions. It meant staying connected, being present for one another, sharing in life's important moments, and taking a genuine interest in the lives of the people she loved. The relationships she shared with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family were among the greatest blessings of her life.

And no matter where life took her, New Jersey was always a part of who Maureen was. She carried with her the spirit, pride, humor, and unmistakable personality of the place she always considered home.

She always was, and always will be, a Jersey girl.

Maureen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have shared in her life. Her legacy will live on through the generations of her family, her faith, and the love she gave so generously to those around her.

There will be a visitation for family and friends from 4:00-6:30 pm at Woody Funeral Home, 1771N Parham Road on Monday, Sept 21st.The memorial service will take place on Tuesday Sept 22, at 10:30 am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. The reception to follow a private burial at the Country Club of Virginia, Westhampton location at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Maureen’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research.
