Wallace, Maywood Franklin, Sr., 78, of Glen Allen, died Monday, August 20, 2012. He was a native of South Norfolk and son of the late Raymond and Nettie Wallace. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Catherine; two sons, Joseph T. (Pam) and Maywood, Jr. (Leslie); five grandchildren, Taylor, Grayson, Katie, Laurel and Amber.
Mr. Wallace was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church; he graduated from Virginia Tech in 1956 and was a member of the Old Guard; a U. S. Army veteran stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Al. and Ft. Sill in Oklahoma. He served in the Virginia National Guard in Norfolk; and retired from Dominion Resources in northern Virginia.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. where a funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday.
