Metin Halil Tanir (“Meto”) born in Ankara , Turkey on October 23, 1961 suddenly departed this life on August 16, 2013 from a cerebral hemorrhage. Metin moved to the United States at the age of 1 and later proudly became an American Citizen and resided in Richmond , VA. He was preceded in death by this adoring wife, Lori Harman Tanir, and his father, Fikret Tanier. He is survived by his son, Justin Blake Tanir, and daughter, Heather Megan Tanir, his mother Melihat G. Tanir, sister Deniz Tanir McCay and her husband Mike, two nieces Michele McCay Hughes (John) and Jennifer McCay Noble (Chip), all of Richmond, VA, and by loving cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, great-nieces and great-nephew, co-workers, and a host of long-time friends. He was co-owner of Copycat Printing and an avid fisherman, hunter, and Dallas Cowboys fan. He had contagious smile and laugh and a loving and gentle demeanor. He was a friend to all and would always lend a helping hand.
A memorial service will be held at Woody's Funeral home, 1771 Parham Road on Tuesday August 20, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 pm.
