

Born Oct. 2, 1946 to Barbara C. and Wistar Ratcliff Anderson (deceased). He was preceded in death by his two children, as he boasted his greatest accomplishments in life, Bettie Michelle Anderson-Haigler and Richard Ratcliff Anderson.
Rick is survived by Bette Ferguson Anderson (Bonnie), his loving wife of 55 years and Houston Merritt Haigler, his only beloved grandson.
He served in the Naval Seabees, a Combat Engineer, during the Tet Offensive in Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star for meritorious service. He was a devoted patriot who continued his support through membership in the Navy League, the VFW and an honorary member of the Marine Corp League.
Rick was a Master Mason for 54 year with Tuckahoe Lodge #347, and a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite Temple Valley of Richmond/Orient of VA.
Rick began his career in Home Industry Sales in management with CV industries in Richmond Virginia. He advanced to an independent Sales Rep. status with his own company, travelling throughout five states. During his sales career, he was a member of the Richmond Sales Club.
He boasted, however, that the most rewarding of all his jobs in life was supporting Bonnie in her many musical projects from productions to piano recitals for 33 years at The Steward School. He never missed a single musical event on campus.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229, US, on June 30, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rick's memory to Tunnels to Towers, The Shriners Hospital for Children, or Mount Vernon Baptist Church/Nuckols Road.
