Born November 5, 1930 in Kobe, Japan, Michiko is the daughter of Mataichi Makita and Oen Makita. She later made her home in Virginia, where she built a life grounded in dedication to family and quiet perseverance.
Mickey, as many knew her, retired from A.H. Robins after many years of employment. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Kimijoshi & Fumio; 2 sisters: Micko & Yashiko; and her husband, Bernard B. Baldwin.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra B. Ayers and husband, Chris; her son, Robert W. Baldwin; her granddaughter, Kim M Perkins and husband, John; and her great-grandson, Brandon C. McCotter.
Family will receive friends at the Chapel - Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond, VA on Wednesday, January, 14th, 2026 beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will take place the same day at 2:00 p.m. in Amelia - Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Rdcp, Amelia Courthouse, VA
