

Mildred Bowley Simmons died at home Monday August 14, 2017. Born in Hambleton, West Virginia (Tucker County) to Rose and Frank Bowley July 11, 1925, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Wallace D. Simmons. She was also predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
Her survivors are daughter Kathy Neel (David), son Steven Wallace Simmons (Mary Gene), granddaughters Sarah and Addie Simmons, grandsons Scott Neel (Adrienne), Jeffrey Neel, a special niece Barbara Wilson (George) and 4 nephews. She was a graduate of Capitol City School of Nursing in Washington D.C., a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a member of the Mastin Fellowship Class and United Methodist Women Circles. “Millie” was a compassionate and generous caregiver her whole life and will be missed greatly by her family, friends and community.
A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Forest Avenue Sunday August 20 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception following. Memorial gifts may be made to Trinity Church United Methodist Women or the CrossOver Clinic c/o Trinity Church.
