Norman Forest "Robbie" Robertson Jr., 69, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on December 12, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Forest Robertson. He is survived by his two children, Marla Robertson Horsley, Darrell Robertson and his wife, Courtney, all of Richmond; his mother, Nanie Mae Robertson and sister, Elaine Ballou; three grandchildren, Kamin and Riley Horsley and Aliyah Robertson; also a nephew, Travis Tinken.
Robbie served in the U. S. Army and retired from E.I. DuPont DeNemours after 30 plus years of service and was a current employee of Woody Funeral Home. He was a longtime friend of Bobby Allison and president of his fan club for 20 plus years. Robbie also drove the pace car for Southside Speedway.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 14 and Wednesday, December 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel-Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Rd., and where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Cartersville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Thomas Johns Cancer Center at Johnston Willis Hospital.
