Nova Loreen Martin, (aka: Tracy) of Henrico County, Richmond VA, died on September 8th, 2026. She was born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America, on July 29th, 1957 to the late Ms. Doreen Martin, and the late Ronald Anthony. Tracy grew up in South Ruimveldt Park and attended Smiths Memorial School before entering the Guyana Police Force Dec 1981. She earned the rank of “Lance Corporal” when she departed in July 1989 to pursue her passion for cooking and other opportunities in the United Kingdom in 1999. Before migrating to the United States in 2014, she lived a life rooted in faith, love and radical generosity. To know her was to know the true definition of positivity. She possessed a rare and beautiful gift for seeing the needs of others and stepping in to fill them without hesitation. Her warmth left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
A foundational pillar of her life was her profound love of prayer. She was a true prayer warrior who spent countless hours lifting others up in prayer, standing in the gap for family, friends and strangers alike. Her faith was an anchor, and her prayers were a shield of comfort for many. Another giving passion she nurtured was a yearly visit to the Joshua House (a homeless shelter for kids and teenagers) in Georgetown, Guyana.
Beyond her spiritual gifts, Tracy expressed her love through her incredible culinary skills. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, a place where everyone was welcome, and no one ever left hungry. She believed that feeding people was an extension of God’s grace, and she used her culinary talents to celebrate milestones and bring her community together where she worked as a cook at the Sunrise Senior Living, of Richmond, VA.
