BHAGCHANDANI, Parmanand "Bana" Atmaram, 68, left us unexpectedly on July 13, 2014. Born in India in 1945, he studied engineering at Jai Hind College in Bombay before immigrating to the United States in 1969 to obtain a Masters in Electrical Engineering at North Carolina State University. Upon moving to Richmond in 1970, he joined VEPCO (Dominion Resources), where he worked for 25 years in various managerial positions, culminating in the position of director of marketing research. It was this final position at Dominion Resources that motivated and moved him to found Dominion Marketing Research and Dominion Focus Group Inc. in 1995. For the past 19 years, Mr. Bhagchandani and his wife, Kavita, have enjoyed working side by side in pursuing the dream they had those many years ago. Mr. Bhagchandani was a well respected member of Richmond's business community and was one of the first members of the Hindu Center of Virginia. He was always very proud of his community's heritage and progress in the City of Richmond. The oldest of six children to Atmaram and Rukmani Bhagchandani, Mr. Bhagchandani was part of a large and extended family. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather who always thought of his family before self. He will be missed without limitations and the words of his family simply cannot express his importance to them. Among his survivors are his wife, Kavita; son, Sanjay; daughter-in-law, Trisha; brother-in-law, Mahesh; and granddaughter, Anya (his guddi) who he loved with boundless energy.
