Philippe Alfred Fillion

Philippe Alfred Fillion, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away at the age
of 68 on September 28, 2019. He was born in Lac Drolet, Québec, Canada, on February 24,
1951, the youngest of eleven children, to Phydime and Lucie (Letourneau) Fillion.
After settling in Brookfield, Connecticut in 1973, he worked in carpentry for 41 years. He retired
to Bumpass, Virginia in 2014. Philippe was a loving husband, affectionate father, and adoring
grandfather. He enjoyed all things Canadian, including maple syrup, poutine, and hockey (go
Canadiens!). Not only did he love watching hockey, but he played it as a youngster up to his
mid-twenties.
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; brother, Jean-Luc Fillion; sister-in-law,
Carmelle Fillion; and brother-in-law, Laval Therrien.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Vadnais) Fillion; son Chaz Fillion (Trisha);
daughter Chanelle Gregersen (Josh); and grandchildren, Brent and Kylie Fillion, and Oliver and
Asher Gregersen. He is also survived by brothers, Jean-Louie Fillion (Claudette), Rosaire Fillion,
Fernand Fillion (Nicole), Émile Fillion (Gaétane), and sisters, Thérèse Quirion (Jules), Jeannine
Gosselin (Michel), Fernande Blanchette (Clément), Marielle Bureau (Réal), Armande Trépanier
(Laurence), sister-in-law Ginette Fillion, brother-in-law Robert Vadnais (Kathy), and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, October 4th at 11AM at Goochland Baptist
Church, 2454 Manakin Road Manakin Sabot, VA 23103.
