Our dad, Rasmikant Pranshankar Joshi was born on February 1, 1940 in Dar es Salaam Tanzania - a country in east Africa where he grew up with his two brothers. The family moved to India for a few years before returning to Dar es Salaam and then he moved to England for his secondary education where he gained his degree in Electrical Engineering.
In England he met and married, our mom, Nalinibala in 1970. Then in 1972 they welcomed their first daughter, Mita. Shortly, thereafter in 1978 they moved to the US to Cleveland, OH where he worked as an Electrical Engineer. Then in 1981, they welcomed their second daughter Mona. Eventually, the family made their way down south to Birmingham, Alabama where dad worked as an engineer at Rust International for 10 years, then moved to Augusta, GA to continue his career at Savannah River Site for another 10 years. Eventually, they landed in Atlanta, GA for 10 years where he began his retirement, and finally ending up in Richmond, VA to be closer to his daughters.
Our Dad loved being an engineer and worked tirelessly in his profession. He also was involved in every community he lived in including regularly volunteering and organizing events as well as being an avid sportsman. Dad lived life to the fullest and his legacy continues with 4 grandchildren. He has made a great impact to those around him and will be greatly missed.
