He we are on the day of your passing 13 years ago.  I still remember getting that call from the hospital saying things had taken a turn for the worse. The fear we all felt and the heartbreak that was on us all. We have all moved forward from that day and tried to live our lives as you would have wanted. The good times and bad happy and sad each day has given us new challenges. I don’t know why but our family seems to have grown distant. This is not the same family you left behind. Please ask our lord to bring this family closer as our time here grows shorter each day. I am sure you have been happy since Mom joined you in 2020. I hope that you both have a grand Thanksgiving and a glorious Christmas. I love you Dad 

Hey Dad,

Well, looks like I am following in your footsteps. I had to have part of my colon removed on August 9th. Today is August 20 and my belly is still sore. I wish you were still here so we could talk about it. Charles has kept in contact with me since he found out. He told me about you had a hard time with this surgery. I don’t have to wear a bag so I guess I am lucky that way. Trangs foot still swells but I think it is getting better. 

Okay Dad I hope you are watching over us here. I think about you a lot.

Happy Memorial Day Dad. 
Trang hurt her foot and is going to start Physical Therapy tomorrow. I am just dealing with that darn diverticulitis. I missed all last week from work. I have to go to get the results from my MRI Wednesday on my left shoulder. I already had an injection and that did not do anything to help. Well I hope you’re having a good time in Heaven

Hi Dad, 

Well, I guess they identified a problem with my lungs on my CTScan. I am worried about it but I still need to see a doctor about it. They also found that one of my hernias has come back. It is small according to the CT Scan but it still causes me discomfort. That along with my bilateral pars defect in my back. It just feels like I am falling apart. I worry about Trang and what she will do. She still needs my help a lot and I am happy to help her. I don’t know who will help her when I am gone. Okay Dad I just wanted to talk to you for a minute. If you get the chance come to my dream again and talk to me about this.

Today I learned that Debbie and Mike got divorced. It felt like someone tore something out of my soul. I don’t know why this is always happening. David and Heather are headed for divorce. Michael and Tammy are having issues because Michael will not hold down a job. Why is the world like this. Now that I am older I know just how important having a companion to share life with is. I am so blessed to have Trang. I know we have issues sometimes but we don’t talk of splitting up. I love her so much that I can not imagine my life without her. Please talk to God and ask him to help those that are hurting and bring peace to the chaos that has taken over this world. Help this family to heal from their hurts and let us all understand each other just a little better. Tell mama Happy New Year for Trang and I and you have a good New Year also. It is hard to believe you have been gone from us for a decade. I am doing okay. It seems I am short on patience lately. I think it has a lot to do with my hearing lose and the tinnitus I have everyday. Trang is working too much and is always tired. I know you would be so proud of the way she takes care of me. I know Mom has told you about David Jr stealing her medicine. I don’t know how to get through to Michael anymore. He still has the bad lying habit and will not keep a job. Maybe if you have the chance you could visit him and give him that nudge you gave me on more than one occasion.  Well, Sad have a great time celebrating Christmas in heaven. November 14th, 2011 at 7:40 am. you were taken to heaven. I know your pain was gone and you could breath again but what was left behind were many broken hearts. We have muddled our way thru the past year. Some days harder than others. We have always tried to do as you asked and not cry. We have not always be able to do that. I know Mom has shed many tears for you. I have tried to be there for her and just listen and try to keep her calm. I know she will never get over being sad because she lost you that cold Monday morning. I will never forget the way you hugged me when I got to Health South that Friday night when you did not even know I was coming. The hugs we gave each other are something I will never forget. I know that you are watching over us and trying to give us strenght to make it another day. Trang is doing as she said she would and taking very good care of me. She has seen me cry so many times but she away comforts me. Watch over Mom help her with her back anyway you can. I love you Dad and even thought your not here for me to call I talk to you often.

Today when Mom called me I was at Walmart picking up some shoes. My others had a hole in them so I knew it was time to replace them. Mom told me about how she gave the table and chairs to a family in need. I felt she had done a wonderful thing. I told her this. My phone started to beep and I had to hang up. When I was walking to the car to go home I thought of the Table. Mom told me that is was a part of our family for 47 years. I started to think back over time about things that had happened at that table. Wonderful memories. Then I wa a little sad. Dad, Mom has had to give up so many things over the past year. She has kept her spirits up but I know inside she feels more sadness than I do. She has learned to handle things that she never had to worry about before. She lost you and that has been the hardest thing I could ever imagine she has lost. It is such a heartbreaking time when I hear Mom going through all this and I can not be there to comfort her. So next time you go to see Mom or you visit her in her dreams let her know just how important she is to me.

My heart is filled with his presence so many days, he comes to see me so many   many days. He came in my dreams last night from some medical facility, telling he would be home soon. I have been a nervous wreck today, I loved him so much and miss him so much.

Fill our hearts with your presence and help us everyday until we can come to be with you again.

You have been gone 11 months today. Its been a sad 11 months, I miss you so much today, tomorrow and every day afterwards. Each day is so hard as I think about your passing. I hope the weeks and months will get better, but this year hasn't been any better from the beginning to the present. I still just can't understand why one minute were so happy, then gone in less than a hour. I know your body filled up with blood, I guess I just love you so much its hard for anyone. I love you so much. Just one more month and you will be gone 1 year.

It is 9-11 again here, which we all remember with teary eyes, but I remember you, which I lost on 11-14, I will always remember that night before and the day of 11-14, I love you each day and a little more the day after. One day I will be there with you.
Saturday would have been our 56 year of marriage which you were so happy each year when it rolled around, there were people that didn't think it would last, but see the human eye is not there to judge.  I love you so much, and this week is a hard week, but I will survive it and look back at time with so much to be happy about. I remember your last words to me was I love you, get some rest then come back to see me. The days are so gloomy, no one knows unless they have been thru this event. Had to go back to Dr. Weiss yesterday, that sore on my right foot has come back, but he will get it healed, he was very graceous to remember you and told me to take care of myself, he is just a great person, I wish all people were like him. I love you and one day I will be there with you. Rev. Bill Carter came by to see me this past week, another person that shows his love for me, more than I can say about some people.
Denese will be down to see me on the week end, she is so happy with her new marriage to Dan. The day you left us, it seems as a dream and I wish it was, but God called you to heaven to be with hem.

I am sure you know I had to have surgery last Thursday. I really had a hard time waking up. I would wake up then go right back to sleep. I really tried hard not to keep sleeping but I just kept going back to sleep. I told Mom that I thought you came to me in a dream and told me I would be okay. Now I wonder if you came to me in the hospital and told me to wake up that I would be okay. I do remember I forced myself to get up and walk around the floor of the hospital many times. It feels strange to me and I know some people might question me but this is what I feel. Trang is having such a difficult time with the loss of her hair. I try to be a positive voice in all of this but I know how important hair is to a woman. Please guide me to be the best support person she has. You always knew how to make someone feel better. I really miss being able to talk to you about things. Mom and I talk and we have become so much closer. That really makes me happy. Sometimes I am so busy with work that I only call once or twice in a week. Mom always says she understands. She speaks so highly of you. I am so glad that I had you as my Father and Mom as my mother. Even though I was stubborn as a child you both were always there for me to talk to. I can never forget when you left us. It is just like it is happening all over when I think about it. I know your work was done here on earth and I can only imagine what you do every day in heaven. Whatever it is I am sure you try to always do your best just as you did when you were here with us. Thanks for watching over me and the rest of the family. I will see you again one day. I love and miss you Dad. Until then, We're still here waiting.

Hi Sweetheart, 
I miss you very much and love you without a shadow of doubt, we never went a day without saying we loved each other. Everyone needs to tell each other they love somebody each day and spend some time with them, because you never know when their time will be up and its to late to wish they had said I love you and visited each other.
You need to hug everyday and then when your time is up you do not have a regret that you should have hugged and said I love you.  That's one thing we always shared a hug and kiss each day.

You were the sparkle in my eye,  Denese go married the 30th of June, she seems so happy, they are going to Las Vegas the 25th of August, then on to Grand Canyon or Lake Tehor - I am so happy for them. Hi Honey, Well its June here on earth, I miss you so much. It's not home anymore without you. Robert passed away May 24th, Denese talked to Charlotte today, I know she is lost without him. She was doing OK.

Hi Honey - Today is Mother's Day - my first Mother's Day without you. Denese, the girls and I went to Debbie's and Mikes for a cook out.  I think all Debbie's grandchildren were there. I know I have not written in a while. Work is so demanding right now. Trang had her appointment with the doctor about her Thyroid and it looks as if they may have found the right dose for her. We finally got her car back after it got the hail beat out of it. It looks good and seems to be okay. Well, going to go to bed. Got work early tomorrow. We're still here waiting

Hi Honey - I just spent a couple hours with you at your Resting Place. It gives me strenght to come out and work around your grave site. I planted some additional grass seeds, you are going to have the greenish grave any where in Goochland County. I can vividly see you the morning of November 14th when you requested me to bring your glasses back to the ICU, when I got back to where you were, you put them on and in less than 2 minutes you said take them and give them to my nurse which I did, then you called me over to your bed side, I told you I could only stay a couple minutes, you ask me if I had been there all night, I said yes, you then told me to go home and get some rest and come back. You kissed me and I kissed you, then I had to leave ,all I can see is you waving your hand telling me good-bye. Every minute of each day my mind is remembering you. I am so proud and happy I had 55 years with you, I am so happy for people to know you were my dear husband. I know you always told me, If you went first to try to remember you with smiles not tears, that is so hard when you love someone as much as I loved you. I had a great husband, people are remembering you with good words of wisdom. Just remember we are here waiting and know we will see you again.

We made it back with no problems. I was watching the sun come up in flight and man it was so beautiful. When we got back to the car we found it had Hail damage. I have been thinking about you a lot. Trang and I made the trip to Vietnam and boy did my butt hurt from sitting on that airplane for so long. We got here Friday night which would have been Friday morning for mom's time. Everyone here says so sorry for you pass away. I wish Mom could meet Tang's mother. The language would be the only barrier.  Trang would help them overcome that. Maybe when Trang brings her mother to the USA for a visit then I can bring mom to Texas and well I am sure they will have a good time. Well I better go now I am sure you have lots to do in Heaven. Hi Honey, Can you believe its almost April already - the weather is so nice in the 80's and high 70's. Your favorite time, daylight saving time has arrived again.  I went to your RIP place yesterday, the grass seeds they planted is coming out so pretty and green.  Its so hard to believe you have left.  Suzie still waits for you to come home from work, she loved you so much. Denese, Amanda, Tyler and Kristen were here last week end, they were doing good.

I think about it every day, if I had known this was a final good-bye I would have never left, I guess it was intended to be that way. You right I miss you so much, yesterday was a rough day, this was our first valentine day in person in 55 years, no body knows how hard it was - I spent a couple hrs at the cementary with you, all I had left to do. I bought a Valentine Heart Balloon, a small plant and a card. When I awoke this morning you were standing beside by bed, asking me if I needed something from Martin' the grocery, I said wait Iam going with you to get tomatoes, Ithrew the covers back and went to sit and Dad was gone.
I took th Toyota and got the sticker on it today, got all the tax papers over to Philip Kibrey to file.  I miss you so much trying to recap on the papers what needed to be done.
Its not a day goes by that I don't wept for you,this is the hardest thing that has ever happened to me. Save a place for me.       Love Mom


I wrote something on facebook for all the people to see. I only had a few minutes. This week has been really busy because the man that normally sets the schedule for the jet to fly has not been at work. I am taking his place. It is a lot of work to figure out that schedule and get it called into the ops so they can let the pilots know what jet they will be flying and where it is parked. Look down and help to guide my day so that I can do the best job possible. You always did so much and were so good at what you did. Thanks for being there for me when I was stumbling. Mom and I talk often. She is doing well also. I was glad when she said the doctor told her that she could wear regular shoes again. She misses you so much as we all do. Happy Valentine's Day just a little late.

Dennie, Kristen, Tyler and I went out to see your Memorial Marker, we all like it. Kristen and Amanda wanted to put PaPa an Nannie on it, looks good. Well if you hear a little noice from above, it will be the placing of your memorial marker, Greenwood called today and said it was here.  Should be placed by the end of the week.  I haven't seen it yet and I am anxious to see it.  The grandchildren wanted to put PaPa and Nannie placed on the marker.  I was hoping it would be here by Valentine Day, I miss you more than words can explain.  You were the greatest husband anyone could ask for, I am so sad, but I guest time will help. Bill Carter came by to see me Thursday of last week, he is the greatest to pray with and explain the healing.  I love you sweetheart, still here waiting.

Well, Trang and I have to go to meet with the immigration people again this Friday. I wish they could have shared the last few years that Trang and I have been husband and wife. They would see that the love that we share is so wonderful. I was thinking about the first time Trang and I came to visit you in the summer of 2008. She was so happy that you and the rest of the family welcomed her with open arms. You were a great Dad and you loved each one of us without limits. I think of you often and each time is makes me sad that you're not here but happy for you that you no longer suffer all the pains you lived with everyday. It seemed that you always had something that was hurting you. 
Dad, help me to understand things and deal with them as you would have. You always seemed to have a way to calm the stormy seas of life. I sure am glad you were my Dad I could not have had a better one. I Love you Dad. We're still here waiting

Hi Dad,
Tonight I told some friends from work about your passing. They were not aware of it. It was a hard story to tell and it made me cry but they understood. Trang is going to have the Thyroid uptake test done again next week because her thyroid is becoming over active again. Watch over her and keep her safe. I know you loved her as your own daughter and she loved you so much also. I talk to mom about every day, sometimes I get so busy at work I forget and when I remember it is too late. I know she needs her rest too. It is very sad for me to think about her at home alone but she seems to be doing better. I know she loves you so much. I am sure this has to be the hardest thing she has ever had to go through in her life. Please look over us all and touch our wounded heart with you love and help us to remember the smiles you had and the words of encouragement you always gave. Dad - Two months have passed since you left us - it only seems like yesterday. Its a memory that we will carry with us the rest of our lives - and Lord we will surely miss you, we are shedding many tears in your memory.
Guide each one of our foot steps that we will go in the right direction and we will meet you one day, until then we say we love you more than words can express.

Well, I know everyone has spoken to you in one way or another about how you will be missed and how Christmas is not going to be the same. They are all correct. This will be the hardest Christmas that I have ever had to go thru. People ask me what would you want me to be doing but it's just not that easy. I worry about mom and I am so glad I have my 2 sisters that are close by to help her. She is a proud woman that came from a wonderful family but I know she has been hurt deeper than any of us. She tells me about how much she misses your piano and hearing you play it. I miss that wonder wise voice of yours. I miss you laughter and your little jokes that always made me smile. In fact I miss everything about you. It was you Dad that put me on the path to making my life better. You always loved us so much. Merry Christmas Daddy. I am sure is wonderful and songs fill the air where you are. We're still here waiting

well its been over a month and it just still seems so unreal that you are in heaven. I go by and check on mom and call her every night when I get home from work. This Christmas isn't gonna be the same since you aren't here to celebrate with us. But we will all pull together as a family and remember all the good times we had with you over the years. I miss you so much Daddy and its still hard that you aren't here. I love you so much and wish you were still here. But you are in heaven and will be with our Lord at his table this year. Watch over us all as we heal and live our lives without you.But you will always be in our hearts forever and ever.

Hey Papa this is your grandson  Michael. I  miss you alot I  miss when  I  called you even  when  you were working. I  still have the message on  my home phone of when  you called us on  easter. I love you more then  words could ever say. You  were a great man  to  me and everyone that was in  your life. God sure has a one of a kind angel with  him  now.

I ordered your memorial plaque yesterday, you will be very proud of it.
It is hard without you, but I stay busy, which helps me to carry on, which you would want me to do. I tell you every day that I love you, miss you. You were always so good to me, which I will have that to remember. Christmas will not be the same without you, but we will rejoice in you name.

You have been gone for one month now. I try to keep my life going but my heart is still wounded from where it broke when you passed away. I remember you told me that we needed to say I love you to each other more often. Dad I love you and I miss you more than any words can express. I hope that I can be just like you.

As Christmas draws closer I feel a real sense of emptiness. I know that I still have my mother and we are getting closer than ever. I call to check on her regularly. This year at Christmas I will not decorate nor will I send a lot of gifts. I will focus more on the times I shared with my father and family during my younger years. I missed a lot of time with my Dad when I moved to Texas for the job I have. I would trade it all for the chance to turn back time and share those years closer to my family. Dad, I know you're in heaven now but would you take a little time as you always did to try to help me understand better why things happen the way they do. I will never forget the Friday night on November 11th, 2011 when Trang and I walked into your room at Health South and you were so overcome with happiness, just as I will never forget when you asked me to hold your hand and not to let go. In my heart I am still holding your hand.

Hi Honey, Each day is still unreal-seems like a dream - I love you so much. Everyone I meet that knew you are all just beyond themselves.  I wish I had just one more day with you - life is no fun without you. We miss you very much.

Had a appointment with Dr. Weiss this morning, my foot Dr. He said you were a hand shaking man, was so surprised when he heard of your passing. You made friends whereever you went. You were a great man and we will miss you beyond words. Don't for get to follow the candle when you want to see us. Mine is burning in my bedroom window. Love you so much.

Daddy, as the days go by it still does not seem real that you are gone.  Amanda, Kristen, Cort, Mama and I went by to visit you yesterday.  I miss you every day.  There isn't a moment that goes by that I don't wish I could have one last moment with you.  I love you very much.  Please watch over us all.  We all miss you very, very much!
