

Robert (Bob) Joseph Corey, 84 of Sandy Hook, VA passed away peacefully on Saturday. September 30, 2023 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Anna and Charles Corey, his sister Irene (Ray), brother Charles, nephew Raymond Jr, several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws and all his furry dog friends (Rocky, Butch & Buster).
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rose Corey, daughters, Rosemarie (Robert), Roxanne, and foster daughter Tanya (Malcolm). In addition he is survived by five grandchildren; Joshua, Zachary (Ella), Benjamin, Christopher, and Emily, two beautiful great grandchildren, sister Marion Mercado, niece Renee (Joe), sister in laws Patty (Tom), Mary and brother-in-law Manny (Peggy), and many nieces and nephews.
Born April 29, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, Bob spent most of his childhood in Queens, NY. After graduating High School Bob served two years with the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy Bob enjoyed a successful career as a warehouseman living a few years in Alpharetta, Georgia before moving to Sandy Hook, Virginia in 1990.
Bob mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was quite the comedian, who loved telling jokes until the very end. Bob’s many passions included NASCAR racing, model trains, and road trips to the casinos with the love of his life, Rose by his side. He also enjoyed the many simple pleasures in life such as watching the hummingbirds from his recliner, and loving all his furry friends.
A Funeral Service and celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 5 at the Woody Funeral Home-Parham, 1771 N Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23238.
Entombment will be held at Amelia Virginia Military Veterans Cemetery at a later date to be determined.

Bob’s family would like to thank and recognize each and every one of them for the great care they provided to Bob over the past few months and especially during his final days.
Bob leaves us as a good and faithful servant who touched many lives as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, volunteer, and or friend. He will certainly be missed by many.
