Samuel C Harrison

Samuel Carlyle Harrison, 81, of Richmond, passed away on December 14, 2012. He was born to the late William Henry Harrison and Hallie Connell Harrison on April 7, 1931 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Sam is also preceded in death by his brother Thomas Wade Harrison

Samuel is survived by his life partner of 23 years Barney L. Burns Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins; Anita Ann Lykins, Donna Lois Michael, Wesley Thomas, Lexie William Harrison, Rodney Quinten Harrison, Doug Wheeler, and Barry Wheeler.

He was the retired Vice President of First Union Bank of North Carolina, He began his banking and finance career at Southern Pines Bank of North Carolina and worked for many years at American Express of New York.

Samuel was a member of Derbyshire Baptist Church.

The Family will receive friends at the Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Richmond, on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00pm. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00am at Ephesus's Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, N.C.
