Sandra Gibson Bohanon

Sandra’s greatest joy in life was her family and the animals that brought her so much happiness and companionship. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for animals throughout her life, especially her beloved cat, Blue.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Jerry” Bohanon Sr.

She is survived by her children, Lisa B. Parkhurst and her husband, Chris, of Dunnsville, Va.; Thomas J. Bohanon Jr. and his wife, Vicky, of Glen Allen, Va.; and Jason R. Bohanon and his wife, Monica, of Mathews, Va.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lindsay Jett and her husband, Robbie; Christopher Parkhurst and his partner, Tia; Colin Bohanon and his wife, Sarah; Gavin Bohanon; Ian Bohanon; Khorbin Bohanon; Cole Bohanon; and Connor Bohanon; her great-grandchildren, Bridget and Alice Jett; and her beloved cat, Blue.

Sandy will be deeply missed, but the love and memories she gave to her family will remain with them always.

A memorial service celebrating Sandra’s life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
