Sarah Elizabeth Parrett

PARRETT, Sarah "Sissy" Elizabeth, 73, of Henrico, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Sarah was the daughter of the late Carroll and Barbara Barnes. She was born on January 3, 1943 in Gastonia, North Carolina. She graduated fron Elon College High School in 1961 and served eight years in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1971, where she taught in the accounting and finance school. She retired in 2014 from Patient First after 27 years of dedicated service. Sarah was a devoted member of Welborne United Methodist Church in Richmond. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Parrett;and her granddaughter, Faith Parrett. Sarah is survived by one son, Matthew Parrett, and his wife, Susan, of N. Bethesda, Maryland; one daughter, Susanna Daley and her husband, Steve, of Mechanicsville; four grandchildren, Hannah Parrett, Grace, Corinne and Luke Daley; two sisters, Laura Marie Costas of Gastonia North Carolina and Doris Bland of Henrico; three nieces, Tika Costas, of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Abby and Laura Bland, of Richmond; three nephews, Dean Costas of Durham, North Carolina, Joey Bland, of Los Angeles, Calif. and Eric Bland of Cooperstown, N.Y.; and many other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends fron 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Welborne United Methodist Church, 920 Maybeury Dr. 23229. Burial will follow at Westhampton Memorial Park.
