Shirley Anne Miller

MILLER, Shirley Anne, 78, of Richmond, formerly Montgomery, W.Va., went to be with the Lord February 8, 2016. She was a graduate of RPI (now VCU) and voted Miss May Queen her senior year. Shirley was a dedicated member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Glen Allen for almost five decades. She was employed by the iconic Miller & Rhoads department store as an executive secretary. Shirley spent many years as a Sunday school teacher, a former member/secretary of the Central Virginia Post-Polio Support Group, an Elvis Presley super fan, and a loving companion to her husband, Ken Miller, for 56 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William A. and Grace Darlene Stephenson; and her husband, Ken. She is survived by her son, Steven Kenneth Miller (spouse, Michelle); granddaughter, Amanda Chanel (spouse, Joey); and family members throughout the country.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service. The Rev. Dr. Donald F. Runion Jr., will officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Mt. Vernon "Believe!"
