

INGRAM, Sue Raney, died on September 6, 2012. She was 91 years old. Sue is survived by her husband, John Howard Ingram; her three daughters, Randy Johnson and her husband, Tom, Anne Meadows and her husband, Buck, and Nancy Ingram and her husband, Max Schools; her grandchildren, Anne Carter Plashal and her husband, John, Liz Redlack and her husband, Chris, Kate McCarty, Marshall Schools, and Bryan Schools and his wife, Brooke; her great-grandchildren, Caroline, Julia and Jack Plashal, and Jamie Redlack. She is also survived by one brother, Gus Raney and his wife, Pat. Sue always enjoyed her many relatives and friends.
A native of Smoky Ordinary in Brunswick County, Va., she was a resident of The Hermitage at Cedarfield in Richmond, Va. Sue was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and attended Mary Washington College. Sue was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she loved being a circle member and leader. Sue was a member of The Daughters of the American Colonists, The Commonwealth Woman's Club, and served on the board of The Wilson Inn. She was an active member of the University Heights Garden Club where she organized and ran a junior garden club. Her love for gardening carried over to Cedarfield where she developed a beloved garden in the woods behind the couple's cottage.
The family would like to thank Patty Trimmer for being Sue's devoted caregiver, the caring staff at Cedarfield Health Care, Mildred Settle, and Hospice Community Care. We thank the Trinity UMC staff, and the friends and relatives who kept her in their prayers.
The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at The Hermitage at Cedarfield.
