Sumner “Sonny” Epstein, 84, of Henrico, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, July 10, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife, Ida, his son, Allen Epstein, daughter, Michelle Onofrio (Brad), grandson, Nicholas Onofrio (Lynné) and future great grandchild Baby O, granddaughter, Amanda Onofrio (special friend Isaac Lee) and his granddog, JJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fannie and Samuel Epstein.
Sonny was born in Boston, MA on September 4, 1941. He lived in Mobile, AL, Missouri City, TX, and then moved to Richmond, VA in 2018. He was an avid fan of ALL Boston sports. He retired from Honeywell Corporation, (Field Service Division) after 37 years. He was in the U..S. Naval Reserve, South Weymouth, MA from 1963-1969.
He loved to play golf, and poker but the pride and joy of his life was taking care of his family.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
There will be no funeral service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
